The current president of the United States has gotten where he is, leaving the last office before his term expired, and the one before that. I was keeping an eye on the position of Secretary General of the UN last time around, but we ended up with a second term of both the Secretary General in the UN and the same US administration. Now, it's come back around again. I'm not suggesting a conspiracy theory, nor am I offering skepticism. This is not a prophetic claim either, but rather just raising a question about an upcoming time frame.
We know President Obama cannot run again, and it's already clear he isn't. Many are concerned, however; that some sort of emergency situation could suspend the 2016 presidential election, which would keep him in office beyond his term limit. I've not dismissed that thought at all, but I've also toyed with a different perspective. I'm really not sure that it would necessarily involve a conspiracy, but rather simply a "coincidence" of timing and happenstance. Whether that "coincidence" is contrived or coordinated, I cannot say, but we do know a One World Government is prophesied.
Most Americans already believe the President, any President; is a mere puppet of those who place him in office. Some call it a conspiracy, some call it capitalism run amok, and some call it communism creeping in. Perhaps if we all just stood together and quit fighting the red and blue, we'd realize our "so called" republic or democracy is really an aristocracy or oligarchy. The reality is really pretty clear. The US is not so free or independent. I'm not saying I don't love America, I'm just saying the image is different than the reality. Now, back to a thought I've had, and perhaps it's really more of a question.
The US election is November of 2016. Even Wikipedia uses the term "is scheduled for" November 8, 2016. The UN will be selecting a new Secretary General this year, also; as the present term will end December 31, 2016. Wikipedia states that candidates from the Permanent Five Members are not usually considered for the position of Secretary General to avoid a concentration of power, but there is a rumor that President Obama is interested in the position. So, who knows? Barack Obama is such a "trail blazer" it's not difficult to imagine him to be the first Secretary General from one of the Permanent Five Members. Maybe he'll be nominated by another country, entirely. Perhaps this is how the whole "birth certificate" situation will be resolved. In a quick Google search, it is confirmed that Kenya is a member of the UN, yet I digress . . .
In the time frame following the presidential election, however; any number of things could happen. There is a span of about 2 1/2 months from the election to the inauguration. What if Hillary is elected, then charged regarding her emails or Benghazi? I'm certainly not wishing ill upon any candidate, but Bernie Sanders is no spring chicken . . . He'll be 75 before the election even takes place. That is 6 years older than Reagan was when he was elected, and democrats across the country thought he was entirely too old for the job. Donald Trump will turn 70 this summer.
With the large number of republican nominees, they will likely do so much in-party fighting that none of their candidates will remain truly viable. The debates seem to be most successful in convincing the American public to not even consider voting republican. So far they seem to be accomplishing that as well as propelling Trump forward as a "non" republican whom they will not support if he does win the nomination. With a fractured republican party, one of the senior citizen mentioned in the previous paragraph could, in all reality, be our next elected president.
Then there is also the chance that Obama could already win the appointment of UN Secretary General, before the American election has "resulted" in a winner, or even taken place. Say for whatever the reason, President Obama is nominated and appointed to serve as the Secretary General of the UN for the next term, beginning January 1, 2017. If Obama is appointed to the UN and there is some sort of calamity preventing the US presidential election, what happens? If the election does take place as planned, regardless of the candidate elected for President, they will not be inaugurated until January 20, 2017. If President Obama leaves his post for the UN position, that will leave America with President Joe Biden and no VP for 20 days.
Again, not wishing any harm on our elderly candidates, but life past 70 is uncertain anyway, much less in high stress situations. As we already know, a great deal can happen in less time than 20 days! I'm not one to borrow trouble, but in times of such global uncertainty, introducing a situation of national historical precedence does elicit some concern or at least curiosity!
Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do
wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall
understand. Prophecy of Daniel

In Memory of the Bill of Rights
So far Martial law has not been declared, but there have been several "emergency hot spots" across the country, regarding a variety of issues, from wildfires to floods, and while martial law simmers potentially on the back burner, a new society is looming large in the forefront. Life as we knew it in may is forever changed. The refusal to allow the press to cover Operation Jade Helm 15 was an obvious blow to the First Amendment, but we the people were too busy calling each other conspiracy theorists or sheople to notice the freedom of the press to exercise rights on American soil had been suspended or curtailed. While people complain regularly about mainstream media, the alternative media is perceived to be amateurish and fringy.
It's taken me awhile to find the words, but basically, with the Bill of Rights being dismantled a piece at a time and the nation's attention drawn to the Second Amendment, the gender issues and new marital definition may serve to be the fatal blow to the First Amendment, using the Tenth Amendment. The First Amendment has been in critical condition for some time now, as well as the Tenth as the federal government has become more empirilized. I now see that our government has just about circumvented every freedom mentioned in the first ten amendments, citing the Constitution . . . or safety.
This situation in Kentucky brought to my attention, the "interpretation" of the first amendment, to completely override the tenth. When we are griping about a particular politician not upholding the Constitution, we need to keep in mind, the Bill of Rights are not really protected by the Constitution. The Constitution was written to protect the rights of a sovereign nation and establish a government apart from the rest of the sovereign nations and governments. The Bill of Rights was specifically written to protect the people from an overreaching sovereign federal government.
I read the Bill of Rights, again and again; and I can't help but wonder if they were compiled as a sort of "Ten Commandments" of we the people, to our government. The fact that they have been undermined in apparent randomness has made the loss less obvious. Figuring inflation alone, in our self serving society, the seventh amendment went directly to countless lawsuits and a rise in legal careers, with many of those lawsuits being quite frivolous. This of course, began the immense backlog of the civil judicial system. The prison industry has led to the sixth amendment becoming a mere technicality when the defendant has no defense. A speedy trial is completely a relative term, with the courts across this land now even conducting trials on Sabbath, in some cases.
The eighth amendment is open to debate regarding bail and excessive fines, but the last portion of the amendment seems to be used primarily in the final appeal in cases of capital punishment, which affects a very small portion of our society. The first portion of the eighth amendment which would impact more of our society, seems to be arbitrarily applied with no actual standard at all.
The ninth amendment is stated to elude to the protection of privacy which doesn't appear in the Constitution and is not directly stated here in the Bill of Rights, so American's protection of privacy is really just an inference that is tossed around with no legal substance. Thus, our current Big Brother state. According to our current society, the ninth amendment is just a vague generalized comment with little meaning.
On to the meatier amendments. The fifth amendment covers everything from no self-incrimination to eminent domain. I'm not sure who determines which crimes are infamous and which crimes are not, but the number of felony offenses has skyrocketed with the war on drugs and the rise of the prison industry. The fifth amendment is the inspiration for the reading of one's miranda rights when arrested, as well as testifying under oath. Eminent domain has been around long before SCOTUS made it official. As a Native American, it seems eminent domain is how this country was actually formed, but that's a topic for another day. Most Native American tribes did not believe the land was to be owned, so removing us from the equation, eminent domain is really the "politically correct" term for "taking private property for public use." Eminent domain has certainly been a part of this country since the Interstate Highway was built in the 50's . . .
No knock warrants, another "weapon" in the war on drugs has of course completely eradicated the protection of the fourth amendment, and has even gotten folks killed. Elderly Atlanta resident, 92 year old Kathryn Johnston's death was a direct result of the "legal" disregard for the fourth amendment.
A state of continual war nullifies the purpose of the third amendment, automatically. This year, Operation Jade Helm 15 had given clear indication, what the military does in our own cities on our own soil, is none of our business, except that we should cooperate, and caused anyone with raised eyebrows to be labeled as paranoid or fear-mongering. The nullification of this particular amendment could become quite troubling if "illegal immigrant amnesty for military service" becomes law. No way to really know who will have the right to just move in! We may see, shortly.
The second amendment gets all the attention, usually, and seems to always be in the "crosshairs" of the anti-gun folks. For now the NRA is financially powerful and most citizens are intelligent enough to know, the criminals already don't worry about laws, so gun laws won't make any difference, either. Disarming law abiding citizens is a clear attack on our freedom. There's just not enough political spin to get around that fact. One concern I have, is again the tenth amendment may be being used to erode the second amendment. All the states that are offering permits for conceal and carry or even open carry may technically have already infringed upon the rights afforded in the second amendment, and relegated gun "control" to the individual states. In all this confusion, I'm guessing state gun control laws will override the second amendment, but SCOTUS interpretation of marriage will override state laws . . . Well played, federal government!
And now, in memory of my favorite amendment. Although according to the first amendment, Congress can make no law regarding religion, but . . . the SCOTUS can interpret any case they choose to "hear" and according to this last week's news, "it becomes the law of the land." No need for Congress to make new laws, when everything can simply be reinterpreted. We also have learned that "free exercise thereof" of religion has no place on the job or in the public square. We'll see if other religions are held to the same standard Judaism and Christianity have been held. You are still free to speak, but you are not free from being monitored and you are not free from surveillance. Freedom of the press was openly rejected in the Operation Jade Helm 15 exercises, on American soil. People can peaceably assemble to petition the government, which is to protest, as long as they stay in the "first amendment zone" a.k.a. "free speech cage." "Free speech cage" has to be the ultimate oxymoron!
As these Ten Amendments have been reduced to illusion, the Ten Commandments were etched in stone.
But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of YHWH thy Elohim, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee: Torah of Holy Scripture

Government, Faith, and Elected Officials
I had other writing plans this week, but the current situation in Kentucky has prompted me to change my plans. It seemed a small matter back in the year 2000, not even worthy of mention, but now in light of current headlines, it seems quite pertinent.
The headlines of Kim Davis's incarceration indicate the fact that we need to realize, rendering unto Caesar may have been costing the silent victims more than we realize. While those currently with a voice, crying victim seem to actually be quite bullying in their tactics. The SCOTUS is not to make laws, but rather interpret them, on the federal level. Congress makes laws, but according the First Amendment, Congress is to make no laws regarding religion. States still have their own ability or should have, to make their own laws. The comments about what Kim Davis should have done, of course cover the continuum, but in some cases sound frighteningly similar to the general attitude toward Hitler's rising power in Germany. We need to realize Messiah separated G-d and Caesar in the example of a coin, where as we just print G-d on something or "sprinkle a little Jesus mantra" over it and then claim "it's all good." Well, we are wrong and have been wrong, for some time.
As some folks say, she should do what the government now insists, I recommend you reread the book of Daniel. The Kentucky law still has not changed and she did not single out same sex couples, she simply stopped issuing marriage licenses all together until the state changed the law. As for resigning over it, she still hasn't broken a law, she simply refused to issue any license until a state decision was rendered. Her refusal and her marital history then brought an onslaught of judgment from the "tolerant progressives" as well as some Bible thumpers. She has been married more than once as well as divorced more than once, and that is a problem amidst Christianity, but she's not been divorced since she became a believer. Even Paul said in I Corinthians 7, married or single, remain as you are, when you become a believer. So, as always, mudslinging is the best defense. Through all of this, folks were completely free to go to adjacent counties.
While the gays are all sniveling and crying victim, I have another scenario of county government that took place in my home state some time back and believe me, I do know the situation from behind the scenes. This involves a county official who was first elected as Public Administrator in 1996 was re-elected in 2000. She had a politically familiar name, as her husband was a state rep and the area was very much of "the good ol' boy" mentality. I'm not sure of any other candidate in 96, but I do know in 2000, there was a candidate of the Libertarian party and no Republican candidate. The Libertarian candidate was a minister who had actually been ministering to many of the "clients" or wards of the Public Administrator's office. To make this long story as short as possible, The Libertarian candidate spoke of G-d, and of helping those who could not help themselves, which of course are the wards of the Public Administrator. The Libertarian candidate didn't win and didn't even "drag" a conservative precinct . . . but there's more to the story.
A federal investigation was launched. Between 2003 to 2006, this elected official had embezzled over $100,000.00 from accounts of people who were entrusted into her care and could not take care of themselves. She stole from the helpless. In all of this, she never even acknowledged her guilt, but simply stated she felt she'd done a pretty good job and plea bargained. Her sentence was no longer than the proven years of embezzlement. https://www.fbi.gov/kansascity/press-releases/2009/former-buchanan-county-official-sentenced-for-stealing-119-000 This case had true victims, true helpless victims!!! The very person who was elected to watch for their best interests was the one who preyed upon them.
The couples in that particular county in Kentucky could simply drive a few extra miles to obtain their license and still be married anywhere in the state. The wards of the Public Administrator lived primarily in state institutions and long term care facilities. They had no access to their own accounts much less the freedom or ability to obtain an advocate of their own choosing or have her books audited. Many of those victims possibly died before her resignation, much less receive any restitution. They were true victims. The couples in Kentucky are not victims. I would even hazard a guess that the heterosexual couples simply went to an adjacent county to obtain a marriage license. As our nation moves farther from the truth, we'll find, just as in Nebuchadnezzar's Babylon; not bowing down to the image will be deemed criminal, and the true victims with no voice will continue to be victimized.
If it be so, our EL whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up. Prophet of Holy Scripture

Opening Day ???????????
Operation Jade Helm 2015 has officially begun . . . So far, it seems to have all the impact of a pin dropping at a rock concert. To be honest, I wasn't expecting a big bang for the beginning, but now in retrospect, we have already been conditioned to military style policing. I've seen military style vehicles in the news for local law enforcement for a number of years now. This photo is from Texas in 2008.
SWAT teams have been busting small homesteads for a few years, as well. There was the big bust in Kansas, in town, a few years back, not even on a homestead but in the burbs, for a grow light that was ordered online. The powers that be found hydroponic squash and tomato plants, in the basement! We've been living under a militaristic style of policing long before Operation Jade Helm 15 officially began!
The Leawood Kansas couple filed a law suit. Here are a couple of paragraphs contained in an article in March of 2013. The "bust" took place in April of 2012, so oppressive policing and has been going on awhile.
“If this can happen to us and we are educated and have reasonable resources, how does somebody who maybe hasn’t led a perfect life supposed to be free in this country?” Adlynn Harte said in an interview Friday.
The suit filed in Johnson County District Court said the couple and their two children — a 7-year-old daughter and 13-year-old son — were “shocked and frightened” when deputies armed with assault rifles and wearing bulletproof vests pounded on the door of their home around 7:30 a.m. last April 20.
“It was just like on the cops TV shows,” Robert Harte told The Associated Press. “It was like ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ ready to storm the compound.”
Television programming and movies have certainly desensitized the seriousness of what has been being put into place. We seem to have gotten to the place where we tend to view headlines and entertainment with a similar perspective. News is very sensationalized and headlines are intended to "grab." Everything pumps the adrenaline while making one feel most of the news is somehow distant and even though nice people get treated like criminals, it would never actually happen to us.
While the gay agenda appears to be targeting Christian businesses we need to remember there's already been the justification for "religious cults" being overtaken and ultimately destroyed, not to mention the preppers and survivalists have always been considered to be somewhat extreme by mainstream. Our society has been programmed for decades now, and sadly we simply didn't see that some of us would end up in the cross hairs. It seemed only "right" to shut down that YFZ Ranch for polygamy, etc. but no one bothered to realize the "bust" was made; based upon a call from another state that had been proven to be a hoax. Children were taken from their mothers for about a month and a half, men are in prison, and the state now owns the property. All of this has taken place, based upon a call that was proven to be a hoax!
Church buses provided assistance to the sheriff's office in the raid and removal of the children, because they truly believed they were ministering. Now that people who believe the Bible are called haters, how long will it be before buses show up to take the children or simply stop bringing the children home from school? A bitter harvest will be reaped from those seeds sown at the YFZ ranch, and the Branch Davidian children who were killed in 1993. It's only a matter of time until those who do not bow down to the system, but stand on Biblical principles will be called cultists. I do not share the views of YFZ, but King David was a polygamist, yet called a man after G-d's own heart.

I honestly do not know how Operation Jade Helm 15 will turn out. Perhaps it is just an exercise, perhaps it is a desensitization, perhaps it is preparation for things to come, or perhaps even further military policing will be in place in this country by September. What I do know, is Operation Jade Helm 15 is not the beginning of militarized policing in this country, as it has been going/coming into place for several years; already. I expect to hear Romans 13:1-2 used 'out of context' and as a threat to true believers very soon. As I've watched through the years, Ruby Ridge, the Branch Davidians, and at one time tried to accept the reported reasons, when I saw the church buses as YFZ ranch, I thought of the words of Martin Niemoller

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
. . . O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our G-d whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up. . . Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of G-d. Daniel 3:16a-18, 25b

Divided for the Conquering . . .
By now, most of us have realized, having a black president did not relax racial tension. On the contrary, the tension seems to be heightened, while our President and First Lady continue to draw attention to racial conflict. Undoubtedly, there are white racists in this country, but there are also black race baiters. Meanwhile young people of all races are watching, believing the programming they are being fed from the side in which they are standing. For whatever reason, tolerance calls us to hate bigots while baiters are given a free pass. This country is, once again, racially divided. Ferguson, MO and Baltimore, MD appear to have stepped back in time, and now college campuses offer "ethnic safe spaces." The author of the article linked makes no bones about the fact, color speaks louder than freedom of the press.
Religious division is really gaining ground, even amongst those who claim the same basic beliefs. Every week, I find at least two articles addressing the exodus from the church. Then there are the various factions of the latest Hebraic movement that really seem rather denominational in their grouping and discussion. The anti-religious seem to be able to unite in their anti-theism and are sadly gaining numbers and power over the public square. The division is quite real, and the aggression against those with different beliefs is gaining momentum. While the evangelicals tend to be divided Sunday morning, they are politically united at the polls.
Law enforcement is becoming quite militarized and while I do believe we still have some good cops, I also know there are some ruthless bad ones. The police brutality has caused much division racially, as well as a general tone of "them vs. us" for a number of years, and now the biker situation in Texas has raised even more skepticism and distrust. The truth is, when there is a bad guy breaking and entering, 911 is the link to our beloved law enforcement that is there to protect and serve. On the other hand, when cruising down the highway and we see the lights on top of the car, the "them vs. us" is apparent with our own adrenaline charge and memory of every brutality video on the net.
There has been a generation gap since the dawn of creation, and along with that, the different standard of morality. A decline in standards is a rapid drop. Adam and Eve with their forbidden fruit, to the next generation committing murder speaks of the rapid decline of civility in this world. The generational blame that has occurred in this country, I find to be quite, stale; for lack of a better word. We all know the baby boomers economically and morally destroyed America and are destroying what's left . . . Although the blame rolls off my shoulders like water off a duck's back, I will admit the boomers, as a whole sold out and haven't done much to improve the situation. The generational division has always been, but the blame, well maybe . . . much of the church still teaches everyone is paying for past generational sins all the way back to the Garden. Perhaps we lack the civility to not let a different perspective divide us; but blaming each other will absolutely bring division.
The Supreme Court is about to serve up a whopping dish of division with the same sex marriage decision coming in June. There is NO way this will not bring division. If they render a decision against same sex marriage, the gay agenda will explode. If the decision is in favor of same sex marriage, the Supreme Court has exalted itself above Scripture, which will result in calamity of Biblical proportion. This division will be the ultimate LOSE/LOSE for our society. LGBT has made no bones about it. They are aggressive and will be relentless. In the 2013 decision regarding DOMA, as the LGBT representatives stood on the steps in Washington a spokesperson for the group stated, "this is not enough." From what I can see, the agenda wants our children, our businesses, our money, and our submission, and I don't know if that will be enough!
Thanks to mainstream media, every small glitch, and every misunderstanding can now be exaggerated internationally and blown completely out of proportion, while lacking context and be quoted as truth, while we all state, "I just don't trust mainstream media." I find myself leaning toward news sources that are definitely outside of mainstream, yet fact checking can be very difficult and I certainly do not want to give a false report. All things considered, though, fact checking mainstream media, doesn't offer much reassurance either. Operation Jade Helm 15 continues to be downplayed in the news officially, while those of us trying to keep it on the radar are billed as conspiracy theorists. More division, always more division.
Sadly, our politics appears to be divided by all of the divisive topics . . . Or perhaps, our politics are simply choreographed to give the appearance of party division, rather than the true division which is between "the powers that be" and "we the people." Since that line appears to be based upon wealth, perhaps it's time to stop watching the politicians for leadership, and stop listening to the media for answers, and realize the love of money is the root of all evil and the only true refuge is found in our Creator.

Deepening the Division
As I sit here thinking of the term "United States of America," I can't think of one thing in which Americans are fully united. Not one thing. We are however, absolutely and vocally divided on a number of issues. This will only gain momentum as another presidential campaign is now beginning. Over 18 months to go and the expletives and name calling has already commenced. If I were voting, I can say with all certainty, my vote would depend greatly, not on just the candidate, but their supporters. The extreme closed-mindedness of both parties sound like haters and I just don't really want haters determining the leader of our nation, but since judgment is inevitable, the hate will increase. I've never voted for a republican presidential candidate, and won't; but at least the republicans/conservatives admit they are closed minded, albeit proudly, they do admit it. The hate spewing, tolerant progressives seem to be in absolute denial of their own intolerance and closed mindedness, and that is frightening!
The division in our country, I believe will even become physically or naturally displayed, before it's all said and done. It seems even after fifty years of civil rights and desegregation, much of our country is still divided by something so superficial as skin tone. As a brown person, I do have to admit, often when it comes to ethnicity, there are cultural differences, creating differences in perspective. This should in no way create moral differences, or even give base for bigotry, but sadly it often does. There are many examples of racial issues once again coming to violent divisions. The racial division appears to be the segue between politics and the "them vs. us" of law enforcement. Statistically, the majority of republicans tended to be white, while the various ethnic groups tend to vote democrat, but that appears to be changing. Mix in what now appears to be racial profiling with law enforcement and the divisive wedge is driven deep.
"Them vs. Us" with a more militarized law enforcement not only divides the people from the enforcers, but also re-enforces the divisions outlined in the previous paragraphs. Local law enforcement has become quite militarized with even more on the horizon with Operation Jade Helm 15. Several southern states are literally going to be inundated, or already are . . . with military drills and exercises, as if the citizens are the problem. What could possibly go wrong there?
Whether the event of Operation Jade Helm 15 comes to a peaceful conclusion, or ushers in martial law, remains to be seen. Meanwhile the sexual agenda is definitely gaining ground crying minority and bigotry. The LGBTQ Agenda is powerful, and it is relentless, and it is aggressive. And that statement earns me the title of homophobe, which is completely inaccurate. Phobia is a fear and I'm not afraid of the agenda, I'm simply making an observation about the agenda. When campaigning in '07 and '08, then Senator Obama stated his views on marriage were traditional. Now, in the highest elected office of this nation, he's had a change of heart. Tell me this agenda is not powerful! Not only is this agenda powerful, it has one clear, very clear target in the crosshairs: The Bible, and the believers thereof. Sadly, while the LGBTQ agenda is creating a flaming distraction, another fire is gaining momentum on the same platform aiming at the same target.
Islam appears to be wielding swords in power plays in other countries, but it's more subtle here. Islam appears to have taken its cues from other agendas. Sword wielding enemies are fought, but "misunderstood minorities" are tolerated, accommodated, and even encouraged . . . Ultimately, we'll probably see swords, but for now, we are going to see days and events of "tolerance, awareness, experience, and understanding." I'd say it's a safe bet that we won't have days and events promoting the Ten Commandments, Feast Days, or Torah/Messiah, but Islam will be presented publicly because there is no separation of "mosque and state."
Hear the word of YHWH, ye children of Israel: for YHWH hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of Elohim in the land. Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away. Hosea 4:1,3

Societal Rules in the News
As Americans worry and fear Sharia law, a few things come to mind. I'm certainly not for the implementation of Sharia law, but I think we may have a slightly skewed perspective on what we call American freedom and democracy. While we fear and dread the possibility of Sharia law coming to this country, how much invasive control is already here?
Wearing a big cloth sack over my head, that hangs to my toes with eye holes to go in public is not my preference, but having my private property destroyed because the spy in the sky can't tell okra from pot is not my preference either. The first, they call Sharia law, while the second is still called American freedom and democracy (with the war on drugs.)
Reading about a young woman who dies at the hands of her father or brothers sickens me. The entire idea of honor killings is beyond what I can understand, but the concept of women being stoned for impurity dates back to Scripture. Since there are no Torah based governments, there really should be no capital punishment, but that's a topic for another day. The fact that family members can kill a family member for the sake of "honor" sickens me, but reading about moms killing their young children is becoming much more common here in the states. Sharia law calls it honor killing, American law calls it mentally deranged, and yet many times, there are religious overtones to the American circumstances, as well. While we are all shocked and abhorred that any parent would kill their child, I have to wonder if the honor killings are as rare in another culture as these bizarre cases in America are. What if the honor killings in Islamic countries are as bizarre to them as American mothers killing their children are to us?
If Sharia law comes to the US, I won't be thrilled with the new regulation that I will be required to be accompanied by a male relative or husband when I leave the house. On the other hand, strip searched on the road or taken to a health care facility for invasive procedures looking for what is not there . . . is not my preference either. From what I've seen and read, some traffic stop procedures would not be allowed under Sharia Law.
Domestic abuse and wives as property is reported to be acceptable within the societal limits of Sharia Law. As western culture is abhorred by the lack of rights for women in Islamic culture, we tend to overlook the fact that men and women have equally lost rights to government officials in their own homes, here in the US of A.
Home schooling parents pepper sprayed and tazed while children watch in horror, then were removed from the home. A family in Arkansas was torn apart over a legal mineral supplement. I'm not sure Sharia Law is as invasive in the home as Child Protective Services in American freedom and democracy.
While we westerners gasp in horror that news is filtered and internet service controlled in Muslim countries, we should keep in mind, we may have access to information overload, but our internet use is being monitored and tracked for the "safety of democracy."
. . . when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. a Proverb of Holy Scripture
