Before We Completely Rewrite History . . .

Giving all respect due to the Veterans of WWII, I have to make a statement regarding some propaganda that is floating around the internet. I feel it's wrong for two basic reasons. One, it's politicizing war, WWII, and two; to be exact, it's revising history. Now that some encyclopedias are no longer in print, someone has to preserve the history, as it was taught in print. I've included the picture here in the blog, at least I've attempted to. Now, as I said, I mean no disrespect to the Veterans of WWII, but the USA didn't go to war to fight the Nazis. We went to war to get the allies to help us after the attack on Pearl Harbor. The history I was taught, was this. Hitler gained power in Germany through elections, with the campaign that the Nazi party would restore the economy and fight Communism. It sounded so good at the time, he was elected! He continued to gain power and by the mid to late 30's, Europe was under siege. The Russians are reported to have lost 20 million in that war . . . Now, the US did not go to the aid of Britain or France, and Jews were turned away at Ellis Island, until . . . the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. All of our big allies were pretty busy, so they couldn't come to our aid. That's when we got involved and it became a War that affected the entire world, not just Europe and Russia. The history is actually quite fascinating and I hope it's not all lost to future generations. My point for today, though is simple. The tag line in this picture is the WWII Veterans are the reason we don't speak German. Well, that's not exactly accurate. WWII Veterans are the reason we don't speak Japanese and General Motors isn't making Datsuns. To politicize WWII, I find disgusting. To revise the history of WWII, is reprehensible. If we lose the truth, we will lose what freedom we have left.

Retraction . . . Well, Sort of but I'm Not Sure

It has been brought to my attention that Chick-Fil-A claims to have not changed their course of contributions, but the original report came after the negotiations in Chicago for a Chick-Fil-A franchise to be opened. I'm not sure any of these past few days of reports changes what I've said. From everything I've read, Cathy says his donations aren't about political agendas. And Chicago said, he's seeing things their way, so I really think what I said before, it's a bunch of publicity, but the word-crafting is becoming quite polished . . . meanwhile, if history has taught me anything, there's probably some really interesting executive orders in the works or international agreements on the table, now that this chickin issue has pretty much run dry, it's probably about time for a new abortion controversy.
Back to the retraction that isn't a retraction . . . I read that some alderman or someone in Chicago stated that they had come to some sort of agreement with Chick-Fil-A as to some sort of compromise as to the donations made by the Foundation backed by Chick-Fil-A. First, I will make my own retraction. I said I believed a man should be able to spend his own money in any way he sees fit, within the law. Well, when we need tax shelters and foundations, I guess that's enough of a statement of distance that perhaps others do feel invited to weigh in and that their input is justified. Times were simpler when people just lived what they believed and did what was in their power for their fellow man, but I digress. Back to our retraction/unretraction. Once this was reported by the person in Chicago, then Chick-Fil-A released a press statement that said they were not donating money to make any political statements or contribute to an agenda, but . . . It would seem what has actually transpired is both sides see a financially beneficial resolution in choosing their words more carefully. From everything I've read, it's simply a matter of crafting the words more cryptically so everybody gets the revenue they want. It does seem WIN/WIN. I get to blog about it yet again and get higher on the Google search. Chick-Fil-A probably doesn't win any body that was offended the first time around, but if they open another franchise, the company wins and the foundation gets more funding, and Chicago gets to increase the city's revenue with a new business collecting Sales and Use Tax. And who knows what "we the people" will have as a gift in the form of a new executive order?" Words are powerful, even when nobody is sure what was said and what was retracted!

From Open Mindedness to Open Madness

Chick-Fil-A really disappointed me today, but then I'm not on the board of directors, so I guess it really doesn't matter. Tolerance has already been redefined in our society, now I'm watching censorship take on a whole new face, and open-mindedness is nothing more than an outright display of hate-mongering, I now call open madness.

If gay rights won't affect heterosexuals, then why does where a man chooses to donate his money affect gays? Oh, I know there's an answer from someone, but really? Why does everyone think censorship and tolerance is where we want to be in the name of a "free society?" Who is still buying this bill of goods? I don't meet the CEO's criteria for proper sexual protocol in that I'm not married to anywhere close to my 1st husband, but I don't care where he donates his money, it's his money and I don't expect the religious group or civil group that sees things his way, to approve of me or anyone that doesn't see it their way. So? I'm really disgusted by the animosity demonstrated in the name of "open mindedness." And amazingly these people cannot see that they are just as hateful or even more-so than those whom they are accusing of intolerance. I'm really sorry the CEO caved to money pressure or whatever the pressure that he certainly didn't feel obligated to, when he first made his statement or answered the question. How can he back down after being so forthright? He makes his own case weak, in doing this! To be honest, I've still not eaten at Chick-Fil-A, but it has nothing to do with politics. Our week-end days of religious observance are reversed, so I guess it's not politics, but religion that keeps me from dining at Chick-Fil-A. I guess I could go in and ask what special treatment they offer serial brides. I just don't understand the aggressive, almost hateful enthusiasm of the so called secular humanists that claim to be open minded heterosexuals, against Chick-Fil-A. They sound like the extremists they loathe! And doesn't Mr. Cathy realize he's not going to gain any customers in this decision? These people he offended carry grudges, they carry other people's grudges! I've read more hateful comments about this from "would be" heterosexuals on behalf of the LBGT community than I've actually read from those claiming to be a part of the LBGT community. So this leads me to two schools of thought about the angry, self defined open-minded, self proclaimed tolerant crowd. One, the "angry, open-minded heterosexual" feels that by supporting gay rights, the competition will be reduced and women will find them both masculine and sensitive. Two, they have their own issues that can be resolved by upholding a manufactured grudge on behalf of "someone else". . . Meanwhile, I think Dan Cathy has made a terrible decision. He's not going to be applauded by the people that boycotted him, because he still let it be known how he feels and they, "the tolerant," are entitled to their long standing open-minded grudges, and he's just liable to lose some ground with those folks that stood in line for an hour at their local Chick-Fil-A to stand with him on grounds of religious conviction. Folks don't like to invest in backpedaling and wavering. Dan Cathy garnered more support in speaking what he believes and standing behind it, than he'll gain by backing down. And as for the angry open-minded straight tolerant community, they'll just find new injustices to shout about social grievances to "chew on" that taste like chickin.

Something Obvious is Amiss

This particular blog is a two part rant, and I don't believe either are tangents. I was deeply saddened by the horrific death of our ambassador to Libya, as well as some of his staff. In light of this tragedy, I am also saddened at what has transpired since. First, of course, it's America, so lets dissect comments made by Romney and analyze President Obama's and Clinton's reactions and confirm their professionalism. Well, whatever, but I'd rather look at some of the more long reaching potential "unintended consequences" of the blame and perhaps some circumvention that could avoid this in the future. First, about the amateur film. I'm sorry, any religious person feels justified to kill in the name of their religion when they are offended. I've seen Messiah depicted in some pretty heinous ways, and it's called free expression of art in this country, so I hope, I seriously hope, our country upholds the same standard for the 13 minute movie. Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" was immensely commercialized and contained overtones of anti-Semitism, but it grossed millions off of the evangelicals. So maybe the problem is not religious violence, but a problem with honor of the religious leader involved. Christians don't seem to mind their seeing their professed leader treated horribly, even killed. I could not bear to see the movie for many reasons, but the primary one was, I love Messiah, I couldn't bear to watch his death depicted. Feel free to quote me on this next statement. I don't want to watch anyone I love die, or have their death simulated. Although sometimes we may be called upon or feel the urgency to be vigil at a loved one's death bed, we needn't ever watch their death simulated . . . Yet, because of freedom of speech and freedom of religion, and our national aversion to censorship, these works have been allowed to be displayed and sold. The 13 minute movie should be no different. Now, on to more about our free speech and expression. It was just about a month and a half ago, our nation once again was up in arms over free speech and the subject was, of course, "gay." The controversy arose over the CEO of Chick-Fil-A's answer in an interview for a religious magazine, but oh my, the backlash and the anger. It was through various discussions I found myself in, with single men ranging between the age of 30-55, that I began to wonder just how deeply this issue runs in our society in general. Just how many boy-cotters and flag wavers and chickin' consumers had issues of their own? This brings me to one possible solution to avoid another incident like the one that took place in Libya this past week. First, let me say this is not anti- anything. I'm a serial bride, a fornicator and adulteress by many religious teachings, so there are extremists of all religions that think I should be stoned! As a matter of fact, I was actually asked to not speak my religious beliefs to my own Grandchildren, by a member of what I now call the American TEAliban. But I digress . . . back to our slain ambassador. Upon seeing his picture and reading his obituary, something just stood out starkly. We sent a single middle aged man into a country that believes not only, that homosexuals should not have the same rights as everyone else, but that they should die. His obituary made me do some searches and of course there were sites that confirmed my suspicions, but that doesn't make it a fact. The man was 52 years old, with no wife, no divorce, and no children mentioned in the obit. And there was some guy on face-book writing updates. Now, this isn't judgment against Christopher Stevens, at all. My question is, why in the world would our government send him into such an obvious harms way? Libya has been completely politically destablized in the last year. Considering there had been 42 years of reported oppression, any first year political science major knows that new found freedom is a hot bed of instability. Just because a man is single in middle age, doesn't mean he's gay, but when the circumstances could lead to the assumption, why take the chance in potentially volatile conditions? If he was gay, why would a government that has evolved to support gay rights, not protect him? Why would our people choose to blame a 13 minute movie rather than a few extremists that are no longer under oppression? While we're here in America, smugly arguing over where to eat chicken; why are we still buying oil products when Libya killed a presumed gay American and Saudi Arabia won't allow Jews in and Christians must be secretive?

Obama's Net Worth

I read the most interesting article in Yahoo Finance, the other day and I will include the link for those who are actually forming their opinions with information. I'm not saying it's full of facts, it is the American media, so that fact has to be taken into consideration, but I want to talk about the information and the article itself. First and foremost, this article confirms that President Obama is in fact a 1 Percenter! That's right, through the course of his time "tending to the interests" of the Middle Class, he's become in that lofty elite group in which the 98% are so disgusted. This article truly brought out the hypocrisy of the Obama followers regarding net worth. President Obama is now worth between 2.8 and 11 million. I would have thought the income would have been clearer on his taxes, since everyone is demanding to see Romney's. I'm guessing once you're in the 1%, and I have no personal knowledge of this, but still, you would know how much over that 1 million mark you've reached! Who was the accountant verifying this information? I cannot imagine any bank, accounting firm, or IRS auditor considering a spread over 8 million dollars to be accurate information. I remember very clearly sitting in my mother-in-law's living room as Candidate Barack Obama was introduced as the keynote speaker for the 2004 DNC. He wasn't even a US Senator at that time, only a state senator running for national office. He's certainly come a long way from total obscurity, eh! I've checked other DNCs. Every other DNC had some seriously well known names giving speeches, but in 2004, it as though the stage had been set for him, exclusively. Of course with this fantabulous speech entitled "The Audacity of Hope" came the book deal! It was a 7 digit deal. Then he "decided" to run for president, which skyrocketed the sales, WIN/WIN and with those big winnings he invested in Bonds and Treasury Bills to the tune of millions, and in one particular portfolio that was "more bond heavy" than most balanced funds. Wasn't that fortunate for him through those economically turbulent years for which we all blame President Bush? And rightfully so, or Greenspan or Bernanke, or someone besides Obama, he didn't have the authority, but it was as though he had a certain inside track that kept him from losing half of his saving and investments, when everyone else did. He was also a big enough player in investing by then, he was somebody with the banks who were bailed out. If I didn't know better, it would just seem like a serious of very fortunate wise decisions, but this is America and powerful people that are well taken care of are taken care of by even more powerful individuals.
To have the insight or inside info to be heavily invested in bonds and treasury bills and less in stocks before the crash, then gain the power to distribute as he chose. . . Now that he's controlling the economy, isn't that sort of a conflict of interest or double dipping? Everything about the ascension of Barack Obama just seems so orchestrated . . .

The Tax on Breathing

I've been wondering for some time now, just what this Health Care Reform was truly about. Oh, I didn't really think for a minute, any politician cared about any of the little people. Politicians have awesome health coverage, and that's who they are concerned about. So why this big health care reform bill that nobody really knows what it holds? The republicans have had a hey day making fun of Nancy Pelosi for wanting to pass the bill, so they could read it. I don't know why they are laughing if they really believe it will lead to death panels . . . The health care reform bill affects us all, one way or another, and it was the republican appointed Chief Justice that claimed it to be Constitutional, by calling it a tax. As far as the other side of the aisle is concerned, I just don't think you can be a democrat if you have any understanding of mathematics at all. There are way too many people not only NOT contributing, but living off of a government check. There is no way, this will make health care more affordable. I think I've figured it out. With weather of Biblical proportion the last several years, not to mention the insurance costs of 9/11 and the casualties of war, I'm thinking the insurance companies were running a bit low on perpetual income. We already know as the premiums continue to rise, and the coverage continues to decline, there are more and more citizens that are just carrying the basic minimum required by law. Folks have gone bare-bones insurance coverage for awhile now, and the insurance companies have begun to feel it. Remember when insurance and banking were practically interchangeable? Insurance companies offered CDs with decent rates and even checking accounts. Well, times have changed and insurance companies are scrambling . . . Justice Roberts gave the deciding decision to give the insurance industry the long term cash infusion that was so desperately desired by this corporate cow. Mandatory health care was deemed Constitutional, by calling it a tax. Wow, that's almost like taxing air or at least breathing. It really is, if you consider all breathing people are mandated to now carry health insurance, and Justice Roberts said it's a tax. So, we've sacrificed health care to keep the insurance companies alive and well to pay off cars and houses and other STUFF by mandating that everyone drawing a breath pay them or pay the penalty. We Have Redefined the Word "LEADER"

Early this morning, it hit me! We aren't electing leaders, we are electing the best beggar for donations and the guy that will say what ever it takes to get enough votes to be called our leader. We're electing the popular people, just like in High School! Does that sound like a leader to you? No, it isn't even a decent follower. The men running for President are not leaders and they are pandering to people who know little about leading. Romney is pandering to people who know a little something about acquiring and amassing and have more of an elitist entitlement mentality. Obama is pandering to the people who make very little upfront investment in life, but believe they are entitled to the same payoff as those who do invest. Both men are pandering to people who have plenty of free time to be pandered to, and like to feel they are a voice to be reckoned with. The majority of America is really too busy trying to make a living or make a tangible difference to be swayed by the hot button issues which are basically manufactured in Washington DC, by a group of people we call Congress, who also pander to be elected, but they pander to the lobby, because the lobby treats them like aristocrats. It seems our members of Congress enjoy being wined and dined by the lobby of Big Corporations, then have a meet and greet with their constituents, a.k.a. the little people,to tell them how much they are listening . . .
Pandering results in being owned and a person who is owned is not a leader. Persons who are owned are slaves. Some are slaves to big corps, others are slaves to their own narcissism while some have simply sold their souls to the highest bidder, which is never "we the people." No matter the reason, the purpose, or the definition, none of this says LEADER. A leader has direction, a leader doesn't have to read the crowd to see where he/she is going. A leader has vision. A leader of "the free world" should have a vision for the next generation, not seek the approval of those that want to exhaust all resources for their own comfort. A LEADER leads people who know where they want to go and a GOOD LEADER, leads for the good of those who are yet to come, who as of yet, have no say. In the redefining of LEADER, the term public SERVANT has been thrown around to be synoymous. Well, the only place that mentions both leader and servant to be the same is Holy Scripture, and America does not share that definition, nor does either party want to. The only vision either of these men who are campaigning have right now, and it is shared, is the vision of being declared victor in November. What is the saddest observation to me, is the fact that no matter what happens, the victor's followers will revel in his every decision and excuse his every failing, and the followers of the defeated candidate will have four years of blame to cast and anger to feed. To have a real LEADER, we need a candidate with true vision beyond himself!

Brown Shirt, Blue Shirt - TSA, the Party Today

I remember vividly, my visceral reaction to TSA. That's Transportation Security Administration for those of us who are trying to keep track of the real meaning behind the initials and acronyms of our political regime. I'm also becoming very jaded when it comes to this "invasiveness" we are just accepting in this country, on every level. It is on every level! Disrespectful rudeness abounds in our nation, from sea to shining sea, from private homes to Washington DC, and everywhere in between. I'm sick of trying to hold a conversation with people staring at their phone pushing buttons and I am sick of being terrorized by a government that tells me they are doing it for our protection. I'm sick of threads being hijacked on forums boards, and to be honest I'm sure some of my old ideas of distractions seem like hijacks to someone else, so I've offered a solution that I'll share in a bit. Now back to TSA. Some of my grandchildren have moved cross country and I miss them terribly, but I hate the idea of my young teen-aged granddaughters being groped at the airport to come see me. and I hate the idea that this is supposed to be acceptable! I also hate the idea of technological strip searching, but that's acceptable now, too. I'm guessing the first bus load to a work camp in Germany in the 30's didn't seem too ominous, either. And every article I read about the TSA is always they are following procedure. Now, see, unlike the Nazi's at Nuremberg, who were just following orders, the TSA is just following procedure. See the difference? Me either! I have compared the blue shirts to brown shirts in this blog before, but we cannot overlook a bizarre set of facts that aren't really being connected, that I think should be. It's not party lines like "they" keep baiting us with, it's government agencies that are already in place to answer to both sides of the aisle and have been for some time. We have all sorts of agencies investing in bullets, we have TSA mentality in nearly every administrative agency and "we the people" have been trained for the past 11 years to accept it for our safety and our own good! So, while we all get on our high horses about this election, keep in mind TSA, SSA, NOAA, HSD all supposedly work for us, but they've got us trained and they all answer to which ever party is in control.

The Example of Isaac

As I kept typing and deleting, I realized there is just no good title for this blog, so I'll include a current event to make my point. The party vitriol has now moved to facebook and I just want to stand up and shout! We are Americans, all of us arguing or slamming or name-calling or bowing out. We are all Americans. How can we take such delight in being so horribly rude to each other? Especially in the name of values and tolerance? To be completely honest, my voice is not based upon participating in the election cycle, but rather by the Bill of Rights. Sometimes it's hard to remember that! We've all heard, "if you don't vote, you can't complain." I don't want to complain, about politics, I want to point out how hateful we have gotten with each other and I truly want to do something about it. I think there is prejudice on both sides of the aisle and I think American animosity is at a fever pitch. What happened to us that we enjoy having become so hateful? Why do so many choose to focus on their hatred of other Americans and their ideals? What in the world has happened to us? It's like we're gearing up for another Civil War and excited about it! Only it's not the blue and the grey, it's the blue and the red! There is undoubtedly a double standard between the primary parties and this week has provided the perfect example. Remember 7 years ago when Katrina hit New Orleans and President Bush didn't get there for three days? Remember the outrage at his "slow" response from the left side of the aisle? Well, Candidate Romney is there today, and obviously this is political compassion because he has no power to do anything, but he's there. In the same article I read that President Obama will be cancelling plans in Cleveland, Monday to go to Louisiana then. So, even though the left side of the aisle was outraged at President Bush for taking three days to get there, I've heard no outrage or outcry from these same people in regard to the fact President Obama will be getting there five days after Isaac made landfall. The reality is, a sitting President probably isn't really a part of the rescue plan at all, but I do find it odd that the double standard is upheld between the parties. I find it sad that the citizens a.k.a. constituents have allowed politics to come between ourselves, our neighbors, even family members. Does anyone really think the Washington politicians care about we the people, one way or the other? I, personally, do not. What I think, is the Washington politicians are professional politicians and they will do whatever it takes to maintain their aristocracy. Keep in mind, their perks and benefits are for life, so issues and resolution are really not the main issue. Power and prestige is the issue and in that, we the people continue to decline as a civil society.

Weather of Biblical Proportion

I can't help but notice, no one in the Republican party drew a parallel between Tropical Storm Isaac and the Republican National Convention. Other than to quietly postpone it a day or two. Now, when Katrina hit, I remember Pat Robertson clearly drew a line between some of the New Orleans lifestyle and the hurricane. And since Isaac has changed course, maybe the RNC does believe they were deserving of the mercy, I don't know. What I've been wondering about, though, is why we don't consider weather to be a sign, good or bad, from G-d. Other nations, not even Bible-believing G-d fearing nations, know their weather comes from above. I don't know if we, here in America, believe our weather comes from science, comes from chance, or only comes in judgment on someone else, but we don't align inclement weather with a message from G-d, unless it's in judgment of others. Now that Isaac has changed course, it would seem that there is a potentially vast portion of our country affected. The beginning of the RNC was postponed due to the Storm, then it changed directions and is heading right for the same region that was hit by Katrina, on the 7th anniversary of that storm's landfall. I see enough in all of this to say G-d would probably like the attention of more than just the wild ones in the French Quarter and more than just the republicans. I'm thinking He'd like America in general to get off of our arrogant high horses, quit blaming each other and the rest of the world, and stop proclaiming that G-d and mammon are compatible in our lives. Although the message of repentance was and is to the general population, it isn't going to be received or done en mass nationally. But for those with eyes to see and ears to hear, it's time. Seven is a big number in G-d's math and storms at sea are nothing new in his methods of dealing with humanity. As a matter of fact, we've actually been forewarned that the circumstances of Jonah would be the only sign. Looks like we're in for some bad weather and the message is REPENT!

What Does NOAA Need With AMMO?

I thought reading and blogging about so many bullets in the hands of homeland agencies was unsettling, but then I realized I didn't include NOAA. NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) has always been an interesting acronym to me anyway, and why in the world that agency would need bullets, I can't imagine. What is NOAA protecting with firepower? What can NOAA do to change the Ocean or Atmosphere with firepower? I'd like some answers and all I have are questions. According to what I've read, NOAA has ordered 46,000 rounds of ammo. The spin was changed to say they need it for some conservation department or fisheries or something, and paper targets . . . Whatever. I went over the information in the last blog, but once again, just for the record. Hollow point bullets expand after impact to create a larger wound and more damage. Hollow point bullets are not used for target practice for 3 reasons. 1. They are more expensive than regular casings. 2. They tear up the target and backdrop, at every accurate shot. 3. Upon impact, and expansion, it's not possible to check for accuracy, thus "qualifying" would be unable to be determined. If there is anyone still buying any of the spin, I think there might be a really nice bridge for sale, or perhaps some ocean front property in Arizona. The Geneva Convention prevents our military from using these, and the Homeland Departments aren't usually self-arming, so that leaves some sort of expected civil unrest to explain this. NOAA can't possibly change the weather pattern shooting clouds. I'd say, no matter how you spell NOAA, something big is expected.

Bullets

I'm truly uneasy about a headline and the information I've obtained. Seems some of our non-military government agencies feel a need for a large amount of ammo, I mean millions of bullets. These are no ordinary bullets, they are hollow point. I believe these are bullets that are forbidden in the Geneva Convention. Furthermore, I don't have any idea why so many homeland agencies would need thousands and thousands of rounds. I read one agency actually has in their possession over a billion rounds. Now the Social Security Administration purchased 174,000 rounds saying it's routine, for firearm qualification for the safety of their employees. Homeland Security purchased over 1 billion rounds of ammo, but it was in two separate orders. Why such huge purchases of so many rounds? Your guess is as good as mine . . . ICE which is Immigration and Customs Enforcement ordered 33 million rounds. No doubt, we've made some enemies, but these departments are aimed at and for the homeland.
After reading how hollow points enter and expand, and that target practice ammo is much more streamline to be easy on the target back drop and comparatively inexpensive. The government's explanation of target practice for qualification just doesn't align for anyone who knows anything about firearms. Everything I have read about target practice and qualification indicates hollow point ammo is never used for anything, but the real deal. I don't know a great deal about target practice, but I do recognize nonsense when I hear it. Don't they realize all these hollow points are going to tear up the targets every time they are accurate, but the accuracy will be indeterminable? The point of a hollow point is to tear up the target after entry!
We truly are a much more hateful, angry, and paranoid society than we used to be and 20 years ago, long before 9/11 we had trained operatives that could literally take aim at a woman in her own doorway with babe in arms, and shoot her in the head. That government sniper could very clearly see, the woman was not aiming any weapon at him and as a general rule of thumb, folks that are holed up don't open the door. The murders at Ruby Ridge by our very own government took place 20 years ago. Then less than one year later, more than 20 children and two pregnant women, among others were killed, again by our very own government, "protecting" the children from questionable religious leaders. That's right, Ruby Ridge was months before Waco and years before 9/11. Now, our government appears to be preparing for a general uprising, while our media reports how controlling and frightening other governments are . . . Undoubtedly, these agencies are a part of something bigger than we know. I do find it quite questionable, just months after our President signed an Executive Order outlining what is to be taken over in the event of an emergency precipitating Martial Law. I also find it quite disconcerting that Executive Orders and Ammo Purchases only serve to further divide the people politically, rather than cause us to realize, Ruby Ridge and Waco occurred under two different administrations, one republican, one democrat. The parties are irrelevant, America, the party is over!

More Sci-Fi Food!

Just when I thought our food supply was getting ridiculous, I discovered even more outlandish plans in the works. It hasn't been a month since genetically modified food was a hot topic. Now that we have produce with it's own digestive system, it only makes "weird sense" to come up with synthetic meat. That's right, rather than actual meat from animals, the scientists are going to make "meat" in the laboratory . . . Synthetic meat, which I'll call "smeat." Doesn't that sound delicious? Can't we see the handwriting on the wall? Between PETA, the Human Society of the United States, and Monsanto, we're not going to have any real food. Remember when we were kids and all the ladies had a decorative bowl of wax or plastic fruit on their dining room tables? Only it was called plastic or wax, not synthetic and we were told not to eat it. Now, with scientific advancement, we can actually go ahead and eat the plastic food?

Hottest July on Record

I've avoiding my usual forums board threads that address "Global Warming" and "Climate Change." With the facts of potential consequences looming darkly on the horizon, I'm furious that this has become just one more political "us vs. them." The long term consequences of intense heat of the past two summers alone, coupled with the severe lack of rain in much of the middle of America, not to mention a mild, mild winter between appears to go unnoticed in the political debate. Our water table is lowered, our water need is raised, and that doesn't even address the crop failures of these two years. Not only has this summer been miserably hot, we've had another year of crop failure. Global warming is a huge issue, no doubt, but without the true reason discussed, a solution will not be found; which has already been prophesied. How much time do we need to discuss and debate, when we have missed the foundational point? I've even heard some counter the "global warming" with another ice age is on the way . . . Well, my perspective addresses either extreme. First and foremost, everyone on earth, regardless of political leanings will be affected! Why in all this political animosity, do people forget, we're all affected by either side of the aisle. Why mock and ridicule when the other side does something stupid, it reflects on all of us! So, considering we are all in the same boat, what does this mean to we the average people? Two years of failed crops is obviously going to have an affect on the food chain and the price. Although farmers may be able to pay the mortgage and Monsanto with crop failure insurance, we can't stock the grocery shelves with it. Ranchers may be able to come out with insurance and IRS losses and even down size their herds, but after the downsizing glut of last year, that doesn't fill the meat and dairy case. Whether it's extreme heat or bitter cold, the crop results will be the same, but the warming of the earth is prophetic. The reason given for this extreme heat, was that humanity disrespected G-d and did not repent. So, technically humans are the reason for global warming. The next fact concerns me greatly. We've made it political and either refuse to believe it or made it "their fault," meaning no repentance, so it's still going to happen . . . to all of us!

Scary Science

Genetic modification is what I call scary science. We are eating food that has it's own digestive system. Science has played with DNA and played with DNA until some of our plants can produce their own pesticide. Read about cabbage with scorpion DNA. Does that sound safe or appetizing to you? It sounds like something from a weird Sci-Fi movie years ago. Most of the credit for genetic modification should go to Monsanto. Monsanto has an interesting power in this country. The Monsanto home page declares that the only business Monsanto Company is in; is agriculture. Consider this fact. President Obama declared for the first time in the history of the world, the direction for the US, is away from being an agrarian society. To simplify is simple. If we as a society are not involved in our own food production, we will be utterly dependent upon the mercy of a food supplier. Since less than 2% of the population is all that now farms, the farmers have a huge supply and demand issue or opportunity! Monsanto has declared themselves to be a partner to the farmers. I'm guessing, the farmers do the plowing and tilling of the land, pay the mortgage, insurance and the taxes on that land, pay for the Monsanto seeds and herbicides and pesticides, then do the harvesting if the weather has warranted a harvest, then take the seeds back to their supplier, because the seeds are registered and trademarked and belong to Monsanto or a subsidiary thereof. That's what Monsanto calls "partnership!" This huge company has all but eradicated corn as G-d created it, and they have a trademark on wheat, canola, soy beans, alfalfa, and more. At first glance one might not realize the significance of this list, but let me write more. Remember when the reports were coming in about all the honey bee colonies dying? Could it be that genetically modified pollen is not healthy for bees? Now back to the significance of the list. First, consider everything that contains these items. How many groceries do not contain high fructose corn syrup? That is just the tip of the iceberg in regard to our food supply. How many of our groceries do not contain corn, wheat, or soy oil? Very few, but again that's not my main worry. Do you realize everything in the meat case existed on grains or some form of agricultural crop before entering our food supply? Everything in the egg and dairy case was produced by a creature that requires sustenance to provide eggs and milk. We have no idea what the long term effect of eating meat from an animal that ate Genetically Modified grain. Genetic modification has only been around for about the past 30 years. It does make me wonder about the increase of autism in that same time frame. Do you suppose all this gluten issue is really about genetically modified grains? And that sustenance is grain, hay, and lush pastures, which are Monsanto's only business! Milk is required for cheese, butter, ice cream, yogurt, sour cream, dips, and many soups and sauces. Our food is being altered, the food supply is being manipulated, and the control of the food has fallen into the hands of a very few and that very few have partnered with The Power of Genetic Modification.

Chick-Fil-A, Business in America

I am absolutely disgusted that the word "tolerance" has become a battering ram for bully agendas and religious views are either judged or judgmental or wrapped in politics and money. I'm not a part of the Chick-Fil-A Project on either side of the agenda. Rather than the gays and religious fighting each other, I think we should take note that certain mayors are using their position in government to control business. Although I am not gay, I'm far, far from my first marriage, so I also was included in a group which Mr. Cathy considers outside of his Scriptural beliefs. And you know, I still believe he has the right to voice his beliefs. His business has garnered quite a following just in being closed on Sunday, which I don't find to be Scriptural. I realize, this has rallied the Christians to a new battle in the political war, and that will probably result in bigger sales today and hopefully no adverse health issues for those that are willing to consume fast food for their cause. If this was a hot button issue for me, I don't think it sounds very heart smart to eat fried food all fired up! Now, moving right along to the new battle the gays have declared, to have some sort of "kiss in" Friday in all the parking lots of Chick-Fil-A. Well isn't that sweet . . . It's really time to make up their minds. Do they want equality or special treatment? And what about we serial brides? Do we make a date with our ex at Chick-Fil-A in protest? I think not. I look at the gay community about the same way I look at seniors. They do not seem to want equality, they appear to want special treatment and special rights. I do know I really don't like the new definition of tolerance, in a society that's just waiting to be offended and mad about something! It would seem "tolerance" has become the antonym of "free speech" and the excuse to be self-serving.

The Perception of Courageous Conviction

Through the years of this millennium I've heard off and on the question of when? then why? The question of "when" first was raised in response to the locking down of American freedom with the Patriot Act. When will the people rise up and revolt? But that didn't happen, the sides of the aisles all switched and the blame game escalated. Yet the entire group that hated the loss of personal freedom with the Patriot Act, said nothing when the current President signed the continuation of it. And they've said nothing when this current President signed an Executive Order that is just a breath away from Martial Law. I've actually seen anti-Patriot Act Democrats defend President Obama's Executive Order regarding agriculture and food supply to be enforced under "emergency" circumstances, yet to be defined . . . Now, we are at the point of no return and I don't hear "when" any more, just "why." Why do the people just accept this? Bernanke says the consumers are slowing the economic recovery. Rather than fire all the politicians this November, the people are still arguing party. Remember the uproar about virtual strip searching at the air port? Remember the offense taken regarding "pat downs" by TSA? I remember a number of things I heard that the people would never tolerate. I remember how emphatically I heard, we the people just wouldn't put up with such invasiveness, or a number of infringements . . . Well, here we are farther down that road and the ones leaving mainstream are only the minority. For the most part, all the things the people of America would never put up with from their government is exactly what they are putting up with and no one is rebelling or revolting. Frankly, I find that fact, revolting!

Let's Give Credit Where Credit is Due

Many times and many venues, I've addressed the concerns I have for the next generations, and today I must give credit where credit is due to the previous generations. My generation has been given a great deal of credit for changing the country and raising up against the establishment, but that credit does not belong to the Baby Boomers. We really didn't do all that much except protest a war that wasn't a war and wasn't winnable. There was a specific generation that came before us that forever changed this nation and they are called the Greatest Generation. Many of them are still alive today while enjoying almost as many years in "retirement," as they actually worked. And many are enjoying survivor's benefits without having to have been in the work force for 40 years. Since we are just now entering the 45th year of Medicare, the persons that turn 65 this year and become eligible for Medicare are truly the first group to have actually paid into that entitlement, their entire working career. So, the Boomers will of course receive the credit/blame for bankrupting social security and medicare, but we really are the first generation to have funded both from the beginning and the Boomers just began to retire, but it's already running in the deficit, so mathematically speaking, something is amiss. Now, back to credit where credit is due. The Greatest Generation was the first to leave agriculture and self-employment. The greatest generation chose a paycheck and that basically translates to having chosen money above all else. And it's odd that this generation that so valued money, is the last to receive inheritances of any size. They really have obtained and control the majority of the wealth in this country. Oh, there are still inheritances for some, but for the most part, it was the Greatest Generation that made Life Insurance the legacy to their descendants, if the Company is still in business by the time the policy is payable. In summation, it was not the Baby Boomers, but the Greatest Generation that changed our nation, never to be the same. It's the Baby Boomers who now realize we have to keep paying into FICA and Medicare because our aging parents and grandparents are collecting in vast amounts over many, many years, and have already "cashed in" the inheritances. I think it will be the Baby Boomers that do rise up against the "establishment" and stop stealing from our grandchildren and actually return to the agrarian society the Greatest Generation left for "the love of money." I plan to leave my grandchildren, not only land, but the knowledge of G-d's provision from the land.

A Generation Has Grown Up

watching their parents "hold the family together" at all costs. What did it teach the kids? For centuries, it taught the children the importance of commitment and vows, but then something changed. Rather than seeing a good example of responsibility, many saw their moms work and attempt to hold the family together while the dads were "doing their own thing" which often involved alcohol and little income. Sadly the members of the generation that watched that have become leeches on society and the women they seduce.
These guys are rather snake-like in that they frequently indirectly coil and slither around the truth. They seem to have to have a great deal of control or at least manage to skirt the consequences of their choices. They appear to believe they deserve authority, while the reality remains they are self serving young men that expect a woman in his life that will support herself and make him look good. Watching these men in their natural habitat, many things become clear. First and foremost they will contribute very little financially, except when it's something big that shows. For instance. These men earn little or share little and will expect their woman to put the food on the table and keep the rent paid, but these guys will buy $100 gifts, for everyone to see . . . These are also the same guys, when the woman finally leaves; will spend thousands on attorney fees to get out of paying child support. It's not an entire generation, but it is a sizable portion of young men that truly don't expect to provide for or support a woman, but will be very needy, yet controlling. This is happening, not only because they were shown this example, but many in their generation also believe in their own authority and self-centeredness. These are the folks that went to college, had the drive to want a big income, and they have to have enough income to live the "style" and pay back the the student loans for law school.
People in power that pander to this sort of anti-social behavior are only kowtowing to the bullies. In this age of tolerance and bullying laws, it seems the first thing we need to do is clean up a judicial system that panders to bullies and the bullies who represent them.

Everybody Knows

Dear Statisticians of the Government and Investigative Journalists, there are a few "facts" that keep getting put before "we the people" that simply do not actually represent the truth, and everybody knows it!
Let's talk about the unemployment figures. Did you know that everybody knows the numbers are skewed based on the fact that many people have been unemployed so long they are no longer eligible for unemployment? Did you know the stats only reveal the percentage of people collecting unemployment checks? Everyone reading the reports knows that! Everybody knows . . .
How about median incomes and house sizes? We've been being prepared and conditioned, actually programmed, for the decline of "Middle Class" for years now. The television shows of the 80's reflected serious divisions coming among the people. Ownership has always been status, but when credit and rent replaced tangible assets with "appearances," the slippery slope gained momentum. As everyone attempts to want the same American dream, the divisions amidst society have become more aggressive and relentless. And now with the burst of the housing bubble, it seems the people lost their homes, while their tax dollars aided their own evictions. Everyone knows eventually the piper has to be paid. Everybody knows . . .
While we are living the Great Repression, it continues to be reported that we are in economic recovery. Because Wall Street doesn't need another bail out? Those on Main Street are still struggling and those that lost their jobs and homes aren't economically recovering. Everyone is well aware of the cost of groceries and the out of touch politicians that are promising all of us big futures and bigger debt. But then, the politicians haven't lost their jobs or houses and they don't have to worry about mandated health care premiums. Kind of looks like things have been going into place for a long time between banking and insurance. Everyone knows the term, "slowed recovery," is propaganda. Everyone knows . . .
How about weather of Biblical proportion? Third world countries know when the weather is bad, they've angered their god . . . We've had three horrible corn harvests since ethanol became a regular ingredient in our gasoline, and the price of chicken feed has more than doubled. Not to mention the fact that gasoline really didn't get any cheaper, either! Could ethanol greed and Monsanto arrogance be a contributing factor to weather of Biblical proportion resulting in the corn crop failure?
It would seem the one thing everybody doesn't know, is how much worse it will get.
